Supporting Children and Families Through Compassionate, Strengths-Based Counselling
Galena Wellness
Families facing mental health challenges often need more than advice—they need compassionate support, practical tools, and help navigating the resources available to them. Melody Ball, CCC, brings extensive experience supporting children, parents, and families through complex emotional, behavioural, and social challenges.
Through her work with Hull Services, Melody supported families using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches that recognize each person’s experiences, abilities, and capacity for growth. Her background includes crisis intervention, suicide-risk response, life-skills programming, parenting support, and strategies designed to strengthen family relationships and daily functioning.
Melody has also worked with low-income and newcomer families in collaboration with Calgary Housing Company, helping address barriers involving housing, income, community services, and access to appropriate care. She understands that mental wellness can be affected by many interconnected factors and works collaboratively with clients to identify realistic supports that reflect their individual circumstances.
Culturally responsive care is an important part of Melody’s practice. She has experience connecting families with municipal, community, culturally relevant, and Indigenous resources while respecting each client’s identity, values, and lived experience.
In counselling, Melody provides a supportive environment where children, adults, and families can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Her goal is to help clients build emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, practical coping skills, and stronger family connections.
Melody is now accepting new clients at Galena Wellness for adult counselling, child counselling, new-client intake appointments, and complimentary 15-minute consultations.
